The most famous celebrations are at the end of May in El Seibo and Santa Cruz de Mago. Very interesting are myth-religious “ga-ga” holidays, taking place during the Easter time in villages in the area of sugar cane plantations. On February, you can enjoy a carnival with big parades right in Santo Domingo. or every Sunday afternoon In La Vega, where colourful parades called Diablos Cojuelos takes place.
