On our way to the DUDU Lagoon, we will visit a beautiful tropical garden where you can have a great coffee. Right after we willhead to the Dudu lagoon, where you can swim or dive in clear bright water or to jump from 13 meters high.
The Dudu Lagoon area is a 700-meter long cave system with a clear Dudu lagoon. According to the legend, this place is named after the Taina Chief Dudu, who once lived in the local caves. Another theory is that it has been doubting (Spanish “dudaba”) for along time about the depth of the lagoon. It is certain that the lake was created by the fall of a cave, and the crater with turquoise water since then attracts a speleologists and cave diver from over the world.
Dudu lagoon consists of two freshwater lakes, connected by several tunnels, the longest of which is 80 meters long. This is what makes Dudu according to local people a unique place in the world, where two natural lakes can be explored at once. An underwater excursion takes about 45 minutes and a diving certificate is required to complete it. If you do not want to dive you can try ziplines – adrenaline jumps into water from ropes hanging on trees, or just relax in the Pozo de los Caballos spa, which is located close to the lagoon.
After this experience, we move to Grande Beach where we enjoy swimming at one of the most beautiful beaches of the Dominican Republic adjacent to one of the most popular golf courses on the cliffs above this beach. We will also have a great Dominican-style lunch.
